Risto has experienced a tumultuous professional life as a trial lawyer, gaining significant insights on human nature. Following his retirement, he transitioned into a fiction writer. He is mostly focused on realistic world-building, as opposed to fantasy literature, with an emphasis on plausibility, and aims to write across multiple genres. He prefers to study human behaviour over technology. When not engaged in writing, he plays the saxophone (poorly), paints with oil (not so great), and practises indoor rowing (poorly). He lives in Helsinki, Finland.
